Zen Charcoal Gauze & Pile Towel

Lightweight charcoal-infused softness with a breathable gauze & pile weave.

A double-sided Japanese towel by Uchino designed with two complementary textures in one fabric. One side uses lightweight gauze for breathability and quicker drying, while the other uses soft terry pile for absorbency and a more cushioned feel after bathing.

Both sides are woven using Binchō-tan charcoal infused yarn — the same traditional charcoal technology used in the Kishu collection. The charcoal is kneaded directly into the yarn before weaving rather than applied as a surface treatment, allowing the deodorising properties to remain effective through repeated washing and everyday use.

Compared to conventional bath towels, the overall feel is lighter, airier, and more breathable while still remaining soft and practical for daily comfort. The dual-face construction also makes the towel more versatile depending on how it is used throughout the day.

Minimal in appearance and quietly functional in use, it fits naturally into calmer bathrooms and Mediterranean homes focused on lighter living and everyday comfort.
