About product

Traditional Japanese craftsmanship, woven with Binchotan charcoal.

A Japanese bath towel made by Uchino using charcoal derived from Kishu Ubame Oak — one of the most traditional forms of Japanese binchotan charcoal. Instead of being added as a surface treatment, the charcoal is kneaded directly into the yarn before the towel is woven, allowing the deodorising properties to remain through repeated washing and daily use.

The result is a towel that feels soft, breathable, absorbent, and practical for everyday living. It dries quickly, holds its texture well over time, and avoids the hardening or pilling often found in lower-quality towels after repeated laundering.

Designed with the quiet attention to detail found in Japanese textile craftsmanship, the towel combines functional reasoning with a calm, understated feel that naturally fits Mediterranean bathrooms and slower daily rituals.
